Sayedah Awadh

Our project, Cookies For Hope, aims to collect funds to be donated to a local charity, Yayasan Pulih, to victims of sexual harassment by selling cookies to the public, done in response to a quantitative increase in sexual harassment cases during the pandemic. This is our targeted audience, however it may coincide with those celebrating public holidays around the months of April and May, particularly Easter and Eid-al Fitr, as a form of ‘seasons greetings’ and in preparation of the holiday season as the project targets an ending date right before May 2021. Our purpose in donating funds is to aid local foundations in protecting victims of sexual harassment, advancing legal changes, raising awareness of the issue to the public, and taking action against it in general. The reason I wanted to join this project is because in a pandemic, I wanted to help address a cause while being confined to our homes during the pandemic. In these times of crisis it is possible that every individual is dealing with problems of their own at home, of course that is mentally draining. As such I want to help enforce positivity into the community by joining this project of producing, packaging, distributing and selling these food products, the profits of which will be directed to a charity protecting victims of sexual harassment, an issue that has become more prevalent online during the pandemic.

Answer the questions

Description
1. How do you achieve this experience learning outcomes in this stage today? During our meetings I make sure I am listening attentively to each of my member's opinions and concerns so I am able to truly help solve the problem or add on to their opinions so we can have/plan an effective strategy.

2. What was important or influential in this experience today? I learned how hard it is to manage a large group, to be able to divide the tasks accordingly so that it is spread out well in order to get the job done fast and effectively.

3. What is the memorable moment in this experience? What went well or was difficult today? As always, communication is difficult during these time where we aren't discussing face to face, sometime its hare to get some members to state their opinion at the time when it's needed. In the end, our leader is reliable so most things go well afterwards.

Expressing Feeling
1. How do you feel when you are doing your experience today? Where do you think this emotional response comes from? I feel determined. I feel determined to help and solve problems for the whole group or for a specific member, this emotion comes from, simply the fact that I don't want one member to have the a lot of workload when it can be spread out or given to someone who can handle it as well.

Generating idea and asking question
1. What does this experience mean to you? Something to look back on and ponder about, one experience can lead to the thought of many different things that can be essential for the future.

2. How do you think your experience today contributes to the development of your IB Learner Profile attributes? I think I have developed most in "caring" I truly want to be able to help so one does not feel too stressed about the workload.
