Description
1. How do you achieve this experience learning outcomes in this stage today?
For this reflection I was working on the CAS project proposal. I was one of the group members assigned to do this project proposal along with some others, due to the situation where I am currently unable to leave the home due to safety concerns. As such I decided to commit some of my time to working on project documents. I managed to demonstrate initiation and planning of a CAS experience by working on the proposal, which itself is a planning document for the project, including the rationale, budget, role assignments, deadline schedules, etc. I also managed to recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions by explaining the rationale to this project, that all the profits will be donated to a charity for sexual harassment victims, which happens to be my engagement with issues of global significance, facing the issue of sexual harrassment particularly online and during the pandemic.
2. What was important or influential in this experience today?
I believe the most important aspect is that this proposal can set the foundation for the actions done during the project. It sets a clear outline for the rationale, schedule, and actions needed to be done for the project, makes it more comprehensive to follow.
3. What is the memorable moment in this experience? What went well or was difficult today?
Not much was memorable in writing the proposal, however some aspects were difficult in that I needed clarification from the supervisors regarding some parts of the proposal, for example achievement criteria.
Expressing Feeling
1. How do you feel when you are doing your experience today? Where do you think this emotional response comes from?
Honestly I felt nothing much writing the proposal, in fact it felt a bit of a chore. However I believe this was a responsibility I had to fulfill due to limitations on physical duties as I had to stay home, so I was committed to filling the proposal.
Generating idea and asking question
1. What does this experience mean to you?
It created a foundation for the project to start from, and also outlined clearly the link between the project and the issue of global significance, that is this project will be used to help the issue of sexual harassment by donating to a charity protecting victims of it.
2. How do you think your experience today contributes to the development of your IB Learner Profile attributes?
I believe it contributes to the knowledgeable profile, as this proposal made me as well as my project teammates more aware of the stages of the project and its rationale. It also contributed to the thinker aspect in that I had to account for the problems to be encountered during the project, and we discussed the solutions to those issues in the project in the proposal.
