1. How do you achieve this experience learning outcomes in this stage today?

Today we discussed as a group in the google meet to generate some potential project ideas. We did generate several project ideas but almost all of them were very random and the one that stands out is related to sexual harassment. This is because we think that the issue of sexual harassment is a global issue but especially in Indonesia, this issue is often overlooked and not being taken seriously, some view it as taboo, leading to the victims doesn’t always receive the best treatment for them to heal physically and mentally. Because of this, we decided to relate our project whatever it is to help the victims of sexual harassment. This shows how I could achieve the learning outcome of demonstrating engagement with global issues. For the ethics, we have considered a few things. We decided in this meeting to do some sort of fundraising to raise money to help an organization or maybe a foundation that are fighting against sexual harassment, instead of providing the sort of mental support ourselves since we are not psychologists. Later on, while promoting for the fundraising activities, we hope to also raise awareness on this issue, so at least instead of seeing it as a taboo that should never be discussed, people can see that it’s a valid issue and there are victims from this.

2. What was important or influential in this experience today?

I guess in choosing the organisations. For now we decided to give the money that will be raised from fundraising later on to Bodyshop. They are currently holding a campaign to make the RUU PKS (the law on sexual harassment) official by asking people to sign their petitions and give donations, the petitions will go toward showing it to the government, to push them to officialise the law, and the donated money will be given towards Yayasan Pulih and Magdalene which are organizations that help sexual harassment victims heal by providing mental support and also educating the public on this issue

3. What is the memorable moment in this experience? 

What went well or was difficult today?I think the most memorable is still the part where we choose to donate to bodyshop because I really keen to find out what changes will happen once the campaign is done. Everyone was present I think so we were all able to share our thoughts on it, I think that went well. Probably the difficult part for me was to find the ideas for the fundraising because for this particular project it will only lasts for less than 6 months so whatever the ideas are it must be attainable to be completed in around 3-4 months.

1. How do you feel when you are doing your experience today? Where do you think this emotional response comes from?

I guess I feel quite satisfied because I think the project idea so far is good enough, I feel like it can actually make an impact even if it’s going to be a small impact.

1. What does this experience mean to you?

I think this experience this week gave me a glimpse of what are the next steps in this project even though I’m not quite sure yet as we still need to finalise the idea and create the proposal before it’s actually accepted and we can proceed to actually doing the project

2. How do you think your experience today contributes to the development of your IB Learner Profile attributes?

I think through the experience this week, the learner profile I practiced was caring and inquirer. I believe I have practiced being an inquirer because since this week was mostly generating ideas, I asked myself what are the potential ideas and how long would that take to complete, while for caring I guess we as the whole group are considering the welfare of these sexual harrasment victims and we want them to be able to return back to the society when they’re ready physically and mentally.
